Use of Passwords

Sky Bank Sierra Leone is committed to ensuring the highest standards of security and data protection for users of its mobile banking application. As part of this commitment, we enforce the following policies regarding password use:

1. Confidentiality of Passwords

Customers are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials, including passwords and PINs. Your password is considered sensitive and confidential. It must not be shared with anyone, including Sky Bank staff.

2. Password Strength

To enhance security, users must create passwords that meet the following requirements:

  • At least 8 characters in length

  • Include a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters

  • Include at least one number and one special character (e.g., !, @, #, $)

3. Password Expiry and Reuse

For added protection:

  • It is advice that your passwords is updated every 30 or 50 days

  • Reuse of the same password is advice for user to refrain from that.

4. Unauthorized Use

  • Customers must never attempt to access another customer’s account or impersonate any individual using login credentials that are not their own.

  • Any suspicion of unauthorized access or compromise of login information must be reported immediately via the phone number +232-074-087-026 to contact our customer service support.

5. Protection in Public Areas

When accessing the Sky Bank mobile app in public or shared environments, users must take adequate precautions to shield their credentials and personal data from onlookers or unauthorized parties.

6. Account Lock and Auto-Logout

To safeguard customer data:

  • Accounts may be temporarily locked after multiple failed login attempts

  • Inactivity will automatically trigger a logout after a secure time interval

We do not collect any personal activity or behavioral data from your use of the app.

The only information accessible through the app is the data you provided when you opened your bank account, including:

  • Full Name

  • Contact Information

  • Identification Documents

  • Account Number & Type

  • Any other details required for Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance

This information is securely stored and used solely to provide you with banking services.

What We Do Not Collect or Share
  • No tracking of app usage, device behavior, or browsing activity

  • No access to your phone’s location, camera, or microphone without your explicit permission

  • No sharing of your data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes

  • User credentials are securely stored and never visible to anyone, including our staff

  • App sessions automatically time out after inactivity to protect your data

  • Strong password or transaction PIN policies are enforced

You are always in control of your data. If you uninstall the app or logout from the app, no user data remains on your device. We retain only the information necessary to operate your bank account and meet legal and regulatory obligations.
