Sky Bank Sierra Leone Limited is a leading financial institution in Sierra Leone, consistently ranked among the top ten banks in the country. We provide comprehensive banking services delivered by a team of seasoned and dedicated professionals.
Established on 10th August 2007 as a private limited liability company, Sky Bank Sierra Leone Limited was originally incorporated as a subsidiary of Polaris Bank Limited. In accordance with the Banking Act of 2000, the Bank of Sierra Leone granted Sky Bank its operational license on 19th August 2009.
In a strategic rebranding move to align with the corporate identity of its parent group, Sky Capital and Financial Allied International Ltd (a member of the SIFAX Group of Companies), Sky Bank Sierra Leone Limited received a no-objection approval from the Bank of Sierra Leone on 25th March 2024 to officially rebrand. This rebranding, which removed the “e” from the former Skye Bank name, was formalised on 9th April 2024, with a new certificate of registration issued by the Corporate Affairs Commission.
Previously, Polaris Bank was a prominent financial services provider across West and Central Africa, with subsidiaries in Sierra Leone, The Gambia, the Republic of Guinea, Liberia, Angola, and Equatorial Guinea. In August 2019, Polaris Bank divested its Sierra Leone subsidiary to SIFAX Nigeria Limited, the parent company of Sky Capital.
